INDIANAPOLIS — This weekend, July 25 and 26, Sound Medicine host Barbara Lewis and her guests will discuss vaccinations, colonoscopies and sex education.
Rachel Vreeman, M.D., assistant professor of pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine, will list the vaccinations highly recommended by pediatricians before the start of the school year.
Douglas Rex, M.D., an expert on colonoscopies, director of endoscopy and a Distinguished Professor at the IU School of Medicine, will discuss several recent studies on the most effective way to conduct a colonoscopy.
Sound Medicine’s Colleen Iudice will present an audio portrait of a day in the life of a sex education teacher.
David Kessler, M.D., professor of pediatrics, epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of California-San Francisco and former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, will discuss his new book, The End of Overeating, where he explains why Americans overeat and what we can do to stop the cycle.
In this week’s Sound Medicine “Checkup,” Jeremy Shere, Ph.D., will explore “phantom fat,” where someone has lost weight and their heads have not caught up with their new body.
