This Week on Sound Medicine

INDIANAPOLIS — This weekend, Oct. 3 and 4, Sound Medicine host Barbara Lewis will present a special broadcast of excepts from a health care reform debate held before an audience of medical students.

The debate was on Sept. 11 at the Indiana University School of Medicine on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus. Speakers and the panel included policy experts, a health insurance executive and Indiana State Health Commissioner Judith Monroe, M.D. Medical students in attendance and participating via webcast presented an array of questions to the panel.

The complete two-hour debate can be found at www.soundmedicine.iu.edu beginning this weekend.

In this week’s Sound Medicine “Checkup,” Jeremy Shere, Ph.D., will explore the appendix and if it is a useless organ.

Archived editions of Sound Medicine as well as other helpful information can be found at http://www.soundmedicine.iu.edu.

Sound Medicine is underwritten by Clarian Health, IU Medical Group and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Primary care segments are underwritten by Wishard Health Services.
